Senior Solutions Specialist

Focused Consulting (FCI) is looking for a senior analyst/subject matter expert to fulfill its needs providing consulting services in the regulated life sciences sector.

Senior Solution Specialists demonstrate expertise in multiple disciplines, exhibit exceptional project leadership skills, and shape solutions that address specific customer requirements.  Senior Solution Specialists oversee projects and the work of other consultants. They provide leadership to project teams with exceptional client relationships and strong communication with all project participants.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead Project Teams: Demonstrate an ability to manage project teams by engaging other Focused Consulting, client, and third-party resources to complete their commitments on time.  Manage project team on customer sites and provide expert advice to the customer and the project team.

    • Understand the contract and statement of work and manage the scope of the project.  Offer to provide addendum or new statements of work for requests beyond the current contract.

    • Document the project scope and execution plan and assume responsibility for completing the project within the agreed time and budget

    • Lead the communications with the customer, client management, FCI management, other FCI consultants, and third-party consultants. Identify and communicate issues and formulate actionable solutions

    • Train and mentor less experienced consultants to develop Subject Matter Expertise, project management skills, and interpersonal aptitude with clients and Focused Consulting, Inc. management

    • Provide input to company management on the performance of individuals when assigned to your projects

  • Apply Exceptional Expertise to Define and Deliver Solutions: Demonstrate expertise in two or more related technical consulting disciplines i.e. business process analysis, business solutions definition, system architecture, technical writing, system validations, system configurations, training, data migration, etc.

    • Participate in training provided by solution or software vendors, partners, or Focused Consulting, Inc.

    • Apply expertise to define solutions that address specific customer requirements within the scope of a project

    • Define and document customer requirements

    • Formulate and present solutions to technical issues

    • Document and execute the defined solution to meet the requirements

  • Customer Satisfaction: Provide Exceptional Customer Service

    • Track the customer requirements as deliverable to the statement of work

    • Ensure timesheet information is within the contracted statement of work, budget, and purchase order

    • Use the Customer Requirements Document as the basis for testing and/or validating the final solution

    • Submit accurate timesheets and expenses by the last day of each month

    • Verify timesheets and expenses for less senior personnel assigned to your projects

    • Track deliverable to the statement of work and verify customer invoice information versus the contract, budget, and purchase order

    • Secure a letter of completion and recommendation

  • Business Development (Marketing and Sales): Assist FCI management to administer current accounts.  Network with customer management and employees to resolve any technical issues and to solicit support for Focused Consulting’s expertise and performance

    • Working directly with customers as a primary job responsibility

    • Identify new consulting opportunities that match FCI consulting skills

    • Define and document new customer request or changes

    • Determine if the requested changes are within the scope of the contract, if necessary, request assistance from the FCI sales department to expand the scope and/or the value of the contract.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (minimum) in computer science or business administration related areas preferred

  • Equivalent work experience acceptable

  • 5-10 years work experience (minimum)

  • Knowledge of system development lifecycle methodologies and validated systems

  • Experience with document, process, or learning management solutions desired, but not required

  • Demonstrate self-discipline and motivation in all aspects of job performance

  • Strong troubleshooting skills

  • Ability to communicate technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences

  • Able to complete assignments with minimal direction

  • Must be able to work in a team environment, handle multiple tasks and react quickly to problems and issues

  • Enhanced PC knowledge and skillsets utilizing Microsoft products

  • Analytical skills required, including an understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into requirements

Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers, and subject matter experts
